The Noise Monitoring and Early Warning System is a comprehensive,automated approach to managing community noise impact problems at largeindustrial facilities. NMEWS software continuously monitors and tracksnoise levels and weather data captured by a network of microphones,analyzers, and weather stations situated throughout a facility. NMEWSwarns the operator when noise event occur so that action can be takenbefore complaints arise, correlates noise events with a database ofoffending noise sources so that they can be mitigated, and provides areliable history of noise activity so that a facility cannot be falselyblamed for generating community-offending noise.
